16U Eurorack control room
Flashback to one of the most complex cases I made a few years back, weird angles allover …. This monster we called the ‘Eurorack Control Room’ based on the nucleair control rooms from the 60s and such … the client wanted something never been done before. Okay! You’ll get it 🙂
It is a sort of 15U case with a 1U row on top of the middle case making that part 16U, based on 3 separate cases merged together. The left & right wing have between 60 & 66HP, the middle 88 to 104HP (I think). But because all rows are rotated 15 degrees both vertically as horizontally tilted you’ll get this crazy triangles in the middle, super cool but nothing to measure or draw, just sanding & cutting until it fits!
The solid Oak vertical parts are positioned with dowels on a pre-cut solid Oak bottom plate and glued & screwed into place. All wood finished with a few layers of Osmo hardwax oil.
All three cases have their individual power socket and psu’s and are fitted with a total of 15 pcs of @modularsynthlab bussboards. Then black rails and my favourite brass threaded inserts and a DIY cable kit for power assembly as in all my cases.
